A Vow in Ashes

LIGHT AND DARKNESS — JUSTICE AND INJUSTICE In Dijon, an owl carved in stone is said to grant the wishes of those who touch it with their left hand—provided they turn their backs on a salamander engraved nearby. A few months after his sister’s suicide, a broken man comes there to make a wish. Since the justice system had ignored the suffering that led to her death, he decides to take matters into his own hands. He gets into the taxi driven by the man connected to this tragedy and takes him out of the city to a remote landscape dominated by a smoking power plant.
